Expectations of Board Members

A Board Member’s main role is to offer supervision, strategic guidance, and serve as a fiduciary for the corporation and its assets and programs.

HOPE Board members take part in fundraising, events, and other activities to support the organization. Indeed, many of our past and current Board Members make HOPE part of their own personal philanthropy as part of our Ambassador 5 Club or even our Legacy Homes Program: leaving HOPE in their will or estate plans. On average, Board Members donate between $2,500 to $10,000 each year, offering cash or in-kind contributions. Their involvement helps HOPE find new opportunities and make a positive impact in the community.

Finally, below is some additional information specific to participation on one of our Boards:

The Process

Our primary objective is to align the skills and abilities of every Board of Directors member with the specific demands of their roles, ensuring a harmonious fit within the team. Additionally, we offer customized training programs that encompass a wide array of critical subjects.

To facilitate vetting and integration, we arrange gatherings, encourage participation in committees, conduct residence visits, and promote attendance at events, all designed to familiarize perspective members with the HOPE’s mission, vision, and values as well as our various housing models and programs.

If you would like to delve deeper into our offerings and engage with the HOPE Team, we invite you to complete the inquiry form below.
